Featured article analysis

This featured article of “The teenagers” doesn’t follow NME’s colour scheme, instead it uses a light and radiant blue colour, and also there are only three main fonts and a very simple layout that is easy to work your way around and easy on the eyes. The featured article takes up almost two full pages; they also used a side bar which is related to the article but about the article itself. It also uses a black background instead of using white, which can is very effective as they are opposite colours and therefore people will know that although the articles may be related, but it is a new article.

They use a lot of the same features as a usual featured article, such as a main image of the band members which covers up a big section of the page. They also have a drop cap and a kicker to get the readers into the story, there is also the use of a pull quote. They have put a small picture at the bottom of the main image with some information that is needed to know about the band so that if there are any readers who don’t know about the band they can get to know them or even if they knew the band it is a source to new information about the band.
